This trip lasts approximately 2 hours and covers a radius of around 20 miles.
Taking advantage of the size, speed and sea-keeping qualities of our catamarans, Stardust II and Wavedancer, as well as our new, 42ft monohull, Saorsa na Mara, this trip allows an opportunity to go further afield and deeper into the Sound of Raasay’s treasure trove of potential wildlife.
Depending on reports, sightings, or weather conditions we can decide to go north or south into the Sound of Raasay, at the discretion of your skipper on the day. As we are capable of covering a greater distance this trip gives us more opportunity of encountering other wildlife, including our resident white-tailed eagles and seal colonies.
A trip north into the Sound takes in the breath-taking Red Caves of Raasay, as well as offering picturesque views of the Old Man of Storr and more of the stunning Trotternish Ridge and Jurassic Coastline of Skye.
A trip south into the Sound takes in Holoman Bay’s magnificent seal colony, beautifully backdropped by Raasay’s extinct volcano, Dun Caan, among many other special sights.
Minimum of 4 passengers required for the trip to proceed.
